Clinical Services
Dr. Kwon provides psychiatric consultation, assessment, and treatment for children and adolescents. Dr. Kwon is also currently seeing a limited number of adult-age patients.
A psychiatric evaluation for children and adolescents typically consists of:
- parent interview
- patient interview and examination
- feedback session, including formulation, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations
- written report
A diagnostic evaluation for autism spectrum disorders typically consists of:
- parent interview, including:
- extensive developmental interview
- evaluation of autism spectrum-related signs and symptoms
- evaluation of other behavioral / emotional / psychiatric symptoms
- the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Version 2 (a rigorously research-validated semi-structured interview and/or play session with the child)
- feedback session, including formulation, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations
- full written report appropriate for submission to schools or government agencies
Ongoing treatment with Dr. Kwon may include:
- overall case management
- medication management that includes coordination of care with a patient’s therapist
- less frequently, ongoing individual or family psychotherapy
Insurance Information
Please note that payment from insurance companies is not accepted. However, a portion of the cost of services may be reimbursed by the insurance company directly to the patient. The office will provide you with the appropriate paperwork to submit a claim with your insurance company. Payment is expected at the time of service, and the office accepts checks, debit cards, Visa, or Mastercard.
